Boerum Hill is a tree-lined neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York bordered by Schermerhorn Street to the north, Warren Street to the south, Court Street to the west, and Fourth Avenue to the east.
The Boerum Hill Association (BHA) is a 501(c)(4) volunteer organization of area residents who seek to preserve and enhance the unique qualities of our neighborhood through advocacy, education, and community building.
Hoyt Street Association is a separate 501(c)(3) sister organization focused on neighborhood greening and children's programming in the Hoyt Street Garden.
What We Do
We come together to provide the following initiatives for our community:
Organizing and hosting year-round community events
Greening and neighborhood beautification
Improving parks and playgrounds
Advocating for quality of life improvements: public safety, noise, sanitation, and more
Addressing traffic management, transportation, and parking
Advocating on landmark preservation and zoning issues
Work closely with Community Board 2, our Council Member, and other local elected officials

Locating Boerum Hill: A Guide to Our Neighborhood
Boerum Hill is defined by specific residential and commercial borders. The northern perimeter is established by Schermerhorn Street, separating the district from the Downtown Brooklyn transit corridor. To the south, the neighborhood extends to Warren Street, which serves as the boundary with Carroll Gardens. The western edge is defined by Court Street, bordering Cobble Hill, while the eastern limit concludes at 4th Avenue and the border with Park Slope.
The district encompasses a central Landmark Area, specifically protected for its architectural significance, primarily situated between Hoyt Street and Nevins Street. Residents and property owners located within the Historic District take pride in maintaining these beautiful buildings and caring for our many trees.
